Ivan is part of the Product Management team at Neo4j. He started his career at Digital Equipment Corporation, following his passion for the kernel of the PdP 11 machines and later with VAX/VMS Macro programming and networking. An author, an entrepreneur, he was founder of Dianomic Systems (a Silicon Valley-based IoT startup), CTO at SkySQL (now MariaDB) and led Systems and Sales Engineering teams at MySQL, Sun and Oracle.
Ivan lives in Windsor, UK, he practices martial arts and helps Open Source Communities around the world.

Connectivity is the single most pervasive characteristic of today’s networks and systems. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected and systems increasingly complex, it’s imperative that we use technologies built to leverage relationships and their dynamic characteristics. In this new scenarios, graph databases play a significant role to provide solutions that were inimaginable until few years ago. Nevertheless, databases do not provide a solution per se, a combination of database and algorithms applied to the store and retrieval of raw data do.
This talk is about the use of Neo4j native graph database with the graph algorithm library. The library covers pathfinding and search, data centrality, community detection and machine learning/deep learning algorithms.
