Presentation : Improving enterprises HA and Disaster recovery solutions
Who nowadays do not know HA solutions based on MySQL/Maria/Percona cluster (Galera)?
Still the correct rollout of this very powerful solution, is often not correctly design, especially when trying to solve not only the local HA, but also to answer Disaster Recovery scenarios.
During the many pass from my first MySQL+Galera installation, I have faced many misconceptions when customers was in the need to design stable/efficient DR solutions.
Foremost the lack of consideration of what can be really done without breaking the laws of physics.
This presentation wants to clarify once for all WHY some of the current misconception are …just that, “misconceptions”.
At the same time, I will illustrate an architecture solution, that we have identify as the real answer for DR scenarios and that we had successfully implemented in many cases.
In the presentation I will start from the customer requirements, and illustrate how we had guided our customers through the different options to finally identify the correct solution.
We will discuss the right way to analyze the platform, and how to finally setup the MySQL/Maria/Percona cluster.
The presentation will also answer the question on how setup multiple DR site.
