Peter Sylvester works as an Internal Principal Consultant for the Open Source Database team at Pythian. After a number of years in IT, starting in 2000, Peter decided to shift into database work and then to MySQL administration in 2008 with the vast majority of his career spent in service delivery working on databases large and small, single instance and distributed, local and in the cloud. He has a strong focus on sharing knowledge and has enjoyed leading the ongoing training projects at Pythian and has also acted as a trainer in other organizations. Peter is based out of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada where he works remotely and enjoys the stereotypical Canadian lifestyle, playing ice hockey all year round typically no less than twice a week.
