Presentation : Databases benchmarks: myths, experience and engineering.
The “secret” science behind choosing the correct database
We’ve all been there: as Software Engineers, DBA, DevOps, SRE, Head of Engineering, senior or novices, we had to choose or agree on the database engine to use within the new application we’re designing. Choosing the correct DB and design the data model is one of the hardest and crucial decisions to take, and as for the coding language it’s (almost) definitive, limited by objective restrictions, requirements, and then subject to criticism.
This talk will highlights the methods to consensuate a difficult decision based on numbers and satisfying requirements, restrictions, costs and performances.
